Interactive PE (interactivepe.com) is accepting applications for teachers for the summer 2014 courses. These courses are virtual education versions of PE1/PE2 originally implemented as blended learning for the traditional school environment. Courses run seven weeks starting June 2, 9, 16, and 23 respectively.
 
Job Description: High school physical education teacher (independent contractor).
 
To be considered for this exceptional opportunity you must have and/or demonstrate:
  • Physical education (9-12) licensure.
  • Directly related teaching experience with excellent student management skills.
  • Completed at least one Interactive PE course (freely available to qualified candidates).
  • Working knowledge of general computer, web, and smartphone applications.
  • A positive attitude and a desire and ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Written and spoken English.
Summary: Individual will be responsible for all aspects of the student's progress. The independent teacher must be a highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills and an ability to work under minimal supervision. The successful candidate will help students develop an understanding and appreciation of fitness as a life skill, motivate students to explore their fitness personality, comprehend course materials, and facilitate positive learning outcomes.
 
Responsibilities: As a member of this elite team of teaching professionals, you will:
  • Administer physical education curriculum consistent with state standards.
  • Encourage learning experiences that lead to positive learning outcomes.
  • Teach knowledge and skills in physical education applicable to a wide range of sports and activities.
  • Support the ongoing assessment of student learning and progress. Adapt to individual student's needs, learning levels, and styles including students with special needs.
  • Be open and availability to all students in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with administration, students, and parents.
  • Enforce standards of student behavior and the Interactive PE honor code.
  • Coordinate with other teaching professionals and participate in meetings, if requested.
  • Maintain professional competence and course mastery.
Compensation: $10,000 plus bonus.
